The breastfeeding essentials helping you to feel a lot more confident

In this video, Lactation Consultant, Midwife and Registered Nurse Cathy Shortt shares her essential tips for breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding your baby doesn't come naturally for a lot of women. Whether due to inverted nipples, poor attachment, cracked and painful nipples or feelings of complete overwhelm. It can often be challenging. Especially initially.

Studies show that:

  • 96% of women initiate breastfeeding.
  • After 3 months only 39% of women are still breastfeeding.
  • That drops further to 15% at six months.

We hope that this video will help you to feel more confident about starting your breastfeeding journey

Kimmy and Cathy chat about:

  • How to cope with the overwhelm of starting breastfeeding.
  • Why skin to skin is so important.
  • Tips for creating good attachment
  • How to set yourself up for breastfeeding success.
  • What a good latch looks like.
  • Feeding cues and signals
