Turmeric Superfoods Smoothie

Turmeric is one of those superfoods that has been around for thousands of years but is having it’s a moment in the sun right now. Three reasons why we love turmeric.

  1. It’s great for detoxification and whilst you don’t want to follow a strict detoxification program whilst pregnant or breastfeeding, your body is detoxing all the time, through sweat, urine, bowel movements and shedding of skin. So turmeric is a gentle way to support this natural detoxification process.
  2. It is anti-inflammatory. Turmeric contains curcumin (which gives it the yellow colour). The curcumin within turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory that can help reduce inflammation in the body.
  3. Antioxidant. Curcumin neutralizes free radicals on its own, then stimulates the body’s own antioxidant enzymes.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Coconut Water
  • 1 Small Banana (fresh or frozen)
  • A handful of Raw Almonds
  • 1 Heaped Tbsp. Natural Protein Powder
  • 1. Tablespoon Natural Yoghurt
  • 1 Tsp. Turmeric Powder (we prefer to use a Turmeric Blend)
  • 1 Tsp. Honey
  • 1 Medjool Date

 Optional Extras 

1 Tsp of Hemp Seeds, LSA and or Bee Pollen. 

Directions

Just pop all the ingredients in a blender and blend and enjoy!
