How can you prepare for your C-Section Birth?
Physical Preparation
Research shows that women who give birth via caesarean section are more likely to experience postnatal back pain. Maintaining mobility through the anterior fascial network and strength through your pelvic floor, core and glutes will help reduce back pain and optimise your postnatal recovery.
Mental Preparation
There is a lot to take in when it comes to your C-section birth. Feeling informed about each step of the surgical experience and postnatal recovery process, will help you to advocate for your birth preferences and feel calm and in control of your birth.
Emotional Preparation
It is important to head into your birth with a relaxed nervous system. Use the lead-up to your birth to drop into the para-sympathetic nervous system through guided meditations, breath-work and specialised yoga for C-Section birth preparation.

Preparing your body for birth
If you have had a caesarean birth, you will know it is definitely not the easy way out. After a C-Section birth, there are six layers of tissue that require healing. Prepare your body in a way that will help you to heal as fast as possible after birth and return to the type of exercise you love.

Maternal Assisted C-Section
A maternal assisted C-Section (MAC) is a caesarean section delivery that allows you to be actively involved in your birth. Experienced by EMP co-founder Lyz Evans, a MAC birth, you will be able to help lift your baby out of your womb and onto your chest. It is important to recognise that a MAC birth is not an option for all women. There are a number of factors to consider with the health of the baby and the mother being paramount, as well as hospital policy and Obstetrician experience.

Reducing Pain
The first few weeks after your C-Section birth can be extremely painful. Managing your pain will support your healing and optimise your postnatal recovery. The EMP will help you to manage pain through:
