Feel informed and supported for your birth.
Create your positive birthing experience with physio-led classes, personalised support all combined with the latest research and evidence.
We understand just how important your birth is and how it can shape your experience of motherhood. The Empowered Birth Program can be done on its own or alongside the EMP Pregnancy Program.Â
We are here to help you to create the birth you deserve: positive, informed, and empowered.Â

Module 1: Create Your Informed Birth
An empowered birth begins with knowledge. In this module, we break down the latest evidence and birth statistics to help you understand your options and feel confident in the decisions you make.
You'll learn how your body is designed to birth—exploring the stages of labour, the powerful role of birth hormones, and what to expect physically and emotionally throughout the process.
This is your foundation for an empowered birth experience.

Module 2: Understanding Labour and the Physiology of Birth
Knowledge of the birth process is key to reducing fear and increasing trust in your body. This module takes a deeper look at what labour really feels like and how your body and baby work together.
You'll explore the stages of labour in detail and learn about the third stage of labour and the immediate hours after birth.
You'll also gain insight into fetal positioning and how it can influence your birth experience.

Module 3: Understanding your Pelvic Floor and How to Protect It
Your pelvic floor plays a vital role in both birth and recovery. In this module, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the pelvic floor during pregnancy and birth, and how to protect it during delivery.
Learn about episiotomy, tearing, and techniques to reduce trauma.
We also explore how to approach birth if you have prolapse or a history of pelvic floor injury—ensuring you feel prepared, not fearful.

Module 4: Prepare Your Pelvic Floor for Birth
This practical, hands-on module gives you the tools to prepare your pelvic floor for labour and recovery. Learn how to perform perineal massage, practise effective pushing techniques, and understand how a warm compress can help reduce perineal trauma.
You’ll also be guided through a third trimester pelvic floor workout and learn habits that support optimal bowel health—setting you up for a smoother birth and postnatal healing.

Module 5: Understanding Pain
Pain in labour is real—but how we understand and respond to it can change everything.
This module teaches you the science of pain and pain relief, from natural techniques to medical options.
Explore how tools like TENS machines, breathwork, and mindset strategies help manage sensations, build coping capacity, and support your confidence through each contraction.

Module 6: Prepare Your Body for Birth
In this module, you’ll explore active birth techniques, labour distraction tools, and how to optimise your baby’s position in your pelvis.
You’ll be guided through a birth-preparation yoga class and a labour preparation workout, where you’ll learn practical tools to draw on during labour. Practise key birth positions that help create space in the pelvis, support the pelvic floor, and enhance the second stage of labour.

Module 7: Prepare Your Mind for Birth
This module supports your emotional and psychological readiness for birth. Choose from a wide range of affirmations for birth, practice yogic breathing techniques for each stage of your labour and prepare your mind for a positive birthing experience with visualisations.
Clinic psychologists also share advice on how to reduce fear around birth, build trust in your body, and stay grounded—even when birth takes unexpected turns.

Module 8: Empower Your Birthing Partner
Your birth partner can be your greatest support—if they feel confident and prepared.
This module equips them with practical tools, from hands-on massage and pelvic release to knowing when to step in and when to step back.
Learn how they can advocate, encourage, and physically support you as both a protector and teammate in your birth.

Module 9: Putting It All Together – Birth Roadmaps & Troubleshooting
We believe that you can have a positive and empowered birth -even if your birth doesn't go to plan.
This module helps you create your personalised birth roadmap, preparing you for different scenarios, including the possibility of a Caesarean birth.
You’ll walk away with clarity, flexibility, and confidence to navigate whatever path your birth takes.

Start your Empowered Birth Journey todayAll Your Questions, Answered:Â
Â
When should I start the Empowered Birth Program?
How is this different from a hospital antenatal class?
When should I begin perineal massage?
What equipment do I need?
Can I still do the program if I’m planning a Caesarean birth?
How can I involve my birth partner in the program?
Do you have a postnatal program?
Is the program suitable for first-time mums and those who’ve birthed before?
What kind of support is included with the program?
I just wanted to say that the Empowered birth program is brilliant - so informative, so relatable and also not intimidating for someone who hasn’t given birth before either.
Â
Such a joy to be able to go to a 38w prenatal appointment and when asked "do you have any questions or things you'd like us to write down for your labour" and to actually already be informed, feel confident in what you want and firm in requesting it in advance (e.g. birth positions, warm compress, time in bath etc).
Â
The breathing techniques are great too, as is the physical and mental distractors for labour, and always that it's based off research and scientific outcomes.
Â
Highly recommend to absolutely everyone who wants to go into their birth feeling prepared, educated and with their partner on the same page!
Â
You ladies are amazing and I feel so lucky to find you and proud of myself to be so committed to your prenatal program.

Between us, we've been pregnant six times and supported thousands of women. As a physio and perinatal exercise specialist, we built Empowered Motherhood to offer the expert care we wish every mother had.
The Empowered Motherhood Program acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
